I dont think you will go far with any faction if you dont upgrade your character. This does not necessarily involve buying FC, but for sure aquiring some through ingame mechanics. 500 energy storage is far too less to make it anywhere in my opinion.

yep you got me wrong but thats fine. i do upgrade my char i just dont buy crystals. i earn them. like i said i just started playing this game and i play FS regulary. so no i havent earned any crystals yet.
